Consensus-Based Adaptive Distributed Hierarchical Control of Battery Energy Storage Systems in a DC Microgrid

چکیده :
In DC microgrids with droop control, it is crucial to rectify deviations in the DC bus voltage and return all bus voltages to their rated values using secondary controls. To ensure the stability of BESSs in DC microgrids during the charging and discharging modes, this study proposes a distributed hierarchical control method based on adaptive and consensus-based primary and secondary controls. The primary control ensures SOC balancing and current-sharing among various BESSs, whereas the secondary control restores the bus voltage to a nominal value. All control objectives are ensured under different conditions by counting batteries with distinct SOCs and SOHs, load variations, variable irradiance profiles, and communication delays.
